Candle Care and FAQ
CANDLE CARE
Did you know that taking care of your candle the right way will keep it burning longer and give you the best hot throw (that's candle talk for stronger smelling) and for the longest amount of time. Here are the tips and tricks for your soon to be favorites!
- LET IT BURN- *Cue Usher- Your candle has memory! The first time you light your candle allow it to melt all the way to the edge. This could take 3-4 hours for a signature, and 4 hours for a wood wick.
- TRIM IT- Keep your wick trimmed to 1/4", Wood wicks should be 1/8". If you need help with your wood wick- message me on Instagram @pineconeroots. Just pinch off the excess ash, and you are ready to go! Don't forget to trim it between every burn.
- TIME IT!- Never burn your candle for too long, no longer than 4 hours
- STOP IT!- Stop burning your candle when you have about 1/2" of wax remaining.
- CHECK IT! - Burn your candle in a safe draft free area, on a heat proof surface free from other objects.
- EMBRACE IT!- Embrace your roots on social media and tag us!! @pineconeroots
FAQ
1. ARE YOUR CANDLES CLEAN? Yes! All candles are made with US grown and crafted soy wax. Fragrances are curated and sourced from US suppliers to be free of any carcinogens, phthalates, and parabens. Down to the core, the wicks are also created using natural products.
2. DO YOU HOST PARTIES? YES! Candle parties come to you! For more information, fill out the contact form on our Candle Party page.
3. WHAT ARE SCENT NOTES? Scent notes layer together to create the amazing fragrance that you experience. Top notes are what you instantly smell when you pick up a candle, or walk by it before it burns. They burn off the fastest and are what bring you in! A middle note is the heart of it, this smell is what you smell as the candle burns and the top notes trickle off. The base notes are the deeper fragrances that come through when the candles burned a little longer.. to that full melt pool we talked about earlier. All together they create the complex beautiful magic that is in each creation. If you have a favorite scent or smell, try snagging a candle with that as a note!
4. DO YOUR WOOD WICKS CRACKLE? In short- Yes they sure do!
5. MY WOOD WICK WON'T LIGHT? Trim your wick and try again! Wood wicks MUST be trimmed, if they are too long they will not stay lit. Pinch off the excess ash, throw it in the trash (NOT FLICKED OFF INTO YOUR CANDLE) and light it again!
